We are a rapidly growing licensed cannabis company committed to producing high-quality products in a sustainable, safe, and compliant manner. We currently have 55 full-time employees, cultivating cannabis and manufacturing it into approximately 40,000 consumer unit a month. Our team is passionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated to pushing industry standards forward. We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR manager to help us build a positive, supportive, and high-performing work environment.

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager with a passion for creating a positive and inclusive workplace. This role is critical to developing and implementing HR strategies that align with our company’s goals and values, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting a high performing, engaged team. The position is on-site, full-time with a competitive salary. Responsibilities include talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance with BC labour policies, and overall HR support for a team committed to excellence. This is an ideal position for a self-starter with experience in regulated industries or similar environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead the end-to-end recruitment process, from job postings to onboarding, ensuring a smooth candidate experience.
Employee Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, handle conflicts, conduct investigations, and promote a positive work culture.
Compliance: Ensure company policies, practices, and employee files comply with applicable British Columbia employment laws.
Policy Development & Implementation: Develop, review, and enforce HR policies in line with British Columbia employment laws and company culture.
Health & Safety: Collaborate with the Health & Safety team to ensure a safe workplace, including handling workplace incidents, compliance training, and risk assessments.
Performance Management: Assist department heads in development of performance management programs, assisting managers with evaluations, employee development plans, and goal setting.
Training & Development: Assist department heads in the identification of training needs and employee development programs, including ongoing learning opportunities.
HR Reporting & Metrics: Maintain HR data, generate regular reports on HR metrics, and provide insights to management on key HR-related metrics and trends.

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.

·       4+ years of HR experience, ideally within British Columbia, in medium size Company, (manufacturing Company experience is a plus).

·       Knowledge of British Columbia labor laws and employment standards.

·       Experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, and performance management.

·       Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across all levels.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·       High proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.

·       Ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and discretion in handling sensitive information.

Role Overview

The Farm Hand role offers hands-on experience across multiple departments including horticulture, processing, and sanitation. This position is designed for individuals eager to contribute to the heart of our operation, from the soil to the shelf. As a Farm Hand, you will play a vital role in the lifecycle of our cannabis, engaging in activities such as harvesting, trimming, and packaging. Woody Nelson is a fast-paced and dynamic environment that celebrates adaptability and a great attitude.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform various tasks related to horticulture such as cloning, soil preparation, transplanting, pruning, harvest, and trimming.
  • Participate in the production process for a variety of products.
  • Participate in the packaging process for a variety of products.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the facility.
  • Follow direction to ensure quality controls and compliance standards are maintained

Skills and Qualifications

  • A keen interest in horticulture or formal education in a related field is preferred but not required
  • Exceptional adaptability and an interest in learning new skills on a regular basis
  • The ability to follow precise direction and a keen eye for detail
  • A strong team player with a great attitude, including moments of adversity
  • Good physical fitness to meet the demands of a physically demanding

  • Indoor work environment requiring PPE.
